A meeting was held under chairmanship of Secretary LG&CD Department (South) on July 29, 2021 at Bahawalpur. MD PMDFC/PD PCP gave detailed briefing about PMDFC initiatives and World Bank Funded Program “Punjab Cities Program”. The progress of sub projects being implemented in five south cities i.e. Bahawalnagar, Burewala, Khanewal, Kot Addu & Vehari. MD PMDFC/ PD PCP along with PCP team briefed overall progress of the program towards disbursement linked results/ score achieved by the partner cities during Annual Performance Assessment. The chair desired that PMDFC should provide requisite technical/ backstopping support to LGs in south region and initiatives should be taken for its handholding and capacity building in framing project planning, concept development and proposals preparation. The chair also desired that PMDFC should arrange regional workshops for south cities in Multan on areas of Municipal Finance, Own Source Revenue (OSR) mobilization, Infrastructure Development, Procurement and Transparency & Accountability.
