PMDFC participated in the Provincial Learning Exchange on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for Water Resources Management, organized by WaterAid Pakistan in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and AGAHE. The event brought together senior government officials, development partners, and sector experts to accelerate climate-resilient WASH services across Pakistan.

Representing PMDFC, Muhammad Nauman Azhar (Deputy Program Officer - Infrastructure Development ) addressed the forum as a guest speaker, presenting the company's initiatives on Nature-Based Solutions for water resources management. He highlighted the successful installation of Floating Wetlands on four ponds in 03 different villages of Punjab, as well as interventions on the Hudiara Drain, Lahore. Mr. Nauman also briefed the session on PMDFC's climate initiatives under the Punjab Cities Program (PCP), which include the provision of underground rainwater storage tanks, solarization of disposal stations in 16 cities, and construction of wastewater treatment plants equipped with Floating Wetland technology in 11 cities of Punjab.

The session was graced by Shakeel Ahmad Mian, Secretary, Local Government & Community Development Department, Punjab, who highlighted the need for stronger coordination between government institutions and development partners, and Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs, Government of Punjab, who emphasized integrating sustainable approaches into public sector planning.

PMDFC remains committed to collaborating with sector partners, including UNICEF Pakistan, WWF-Pakistan, PSPA, PRMSC, WaterAID, AGAHE and other stakeholders to translate technical guidance into practical action for strengthening water security in Punjab.
