A meeting was held between the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) and GIZ to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The GIZ delegation included Shahid, Advisor Energy, and Laiba Liaqat, Junior Advisor attended through video link. PMDFC was represented by Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM ID Nauman Ijaz, GM F&A, Idrees Haider, Manager Communications, and Sohaib Rafique, DM (ID).
During the meeting, Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM ID, shared a detailed overview of PMDFC’s key initiatives and successfully completed projects. The GIZ team showed keen interest in PMDFC’s institutional strengthening activities and energy audit initiative carried out in 16 partner Municipal Committees under the Punjab Cities Program (PCP). Under this initiative, PMDFC conducted comprehensive energy audits, developed practical recommendations to minimize energy expenditures, improve energy efficiency, and actively supported the implementation of these recommendations at the municipal level.
Considering PMDFC’s extensive experience in institutional strengthening and municipal energy efficiency, both sides discussed potential avenues for future partnership and collaboration.
