Rana Sikander Hayat, Education Minister Punjab, along with Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA, visited the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) office today. During the visit, they were briefed by Syed Zahid Aziz, MD PMDFC, along with his senior management team, including Adnan Nisar Khan, GM (Engineering), and Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM (ID).
The briefing focused on the upcoming sewerage and stormwater drainage schemes for Pattoki and Phool Nagar, as well as other proposed infrastructure initiatives for cities across District Kasur. It was shared that these projects are being implemented under the Chief Minister’s Punjab Development Programme, under which a total investment of PKR 300 billion is planned for 52 cities across Punjab.
Specifically for District Kasur, an allocation of PKR 21 billion has been earmarked for integrated urban development schemes in Kot Radha Kishan, Khudian, Pattoki, and Phool Nagar. The planned interventions include comprehensive, end-to-end sewerage systems, construction of wastewater treatment plants, modern stormwater drainage networks, and underground water storage tanks to mitigate urban flooding along with allied urban amenities such as roads, pavements, public parks, and street lighting. These integrated interventions aim to improve environmental sustainability, public health, and overall quality of life in the cities of District Kasur.
The visiting dignitaries appreciated PMDFC’s role in planning and implementing large-scale urban infrastructure projects and emphasized the importance of timely execution to ensure sustainable and long-term benefits for local communities.
