Pakistan’s First Flowing Wastewater Treatment through Floating Wetlands at Hudiara Drain, Lahore – A PMDFC Initiative
Following the successful completion of floating wetlands–based wastewater treatment projects in wastewater ponds at Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Rajanpur, the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) has implemented a pioneering, nature-based wastewater treatment initiative at the Hudiara Drain, Lahore. This landmark project aims to improve water quality, reduce air & water pollution and foul Odors, and restore the surrounding environment through the use of floating wetlands and aeration systems in a flowing drain.
