On 9th December 2025, a one-day technical workshop was arranged by WWF, during which Muhammad Nauman Azhar, delivered a comprehensive session on transforming drain channels into natural treatment corridors.
The workshop was attended by a wide range of key stakeholders, including representatives from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Irrigation Department, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Sapphire, Nishat, Judicial Water and Environment Commission, Water Specialists from HTMA, and the Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management, along with participants from the public and private sectors.
All stakeholders appreciated and highly commended the efforts of PMDFC for successfully implementing sustainable wastewater treatment initiatives at Hudiara Drain, Lahore, particularly the adoption of Floating Treatment Wetlands and comprehensive corridor landscaping. The initiative was recognized as an exemplary model of innovation, environmental restoration, community benefit, and strong institutional collaboration.
