A Project Coordination Committee (PCC) meeting and Project Wrap-up and Reflections Session was held to mark the successful completion of the project “Support to Strengthen Local Services by Local Governments”, funded by GIZ and implemented by the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) in the cities of Toba Tek Singh, Jhelum, Lahore, and Sheikhupura.
The event was graced by Mr. Arshad Baig, Secretary, Local Government & Community Development Department (LG&CDD), as the Chief Guest. Mr. Immad Iftikhar Malik, Chairman, Board of Directors (BoD), PMDFC, and Ch. M. Shafi Arshad, Mr. Qamar Ul Zaman, Member BoD, PMDFC, were also in attendance.
Senior PMDFC officials including Mr. Syed Zahid Aziz, Managing Director PMDFC; Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, General Manager (GM) Institutional Development; and Mr. Adnan Nisar, GM Engineering, participated alongside other senior officers of the organization.
During the session, Mr. Abid Ali, Project Officer IT, PMDFC, presented the findings of the water billing survey successfully conducted in Toba Tek Singh. This was followed by the formal launch of the E-Billing System by the Special Secretary LG&CDD, along with other distinguished guests.
As part of the project, sewer safety equipment provided under this initiative was also displayed at the event, drawing attention to the project's focus on protecting sanitation workers and improving working conditions.
Representing GIZ, Mr. Asim Shafi and Ms. Sanam Irshad also attended the event and appreciated the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in improving municipal service delivery.
