Today, A meeting was chaired by Special Secretary Local Government and Community Development Department (LG & CDD), Ms. Asia Gull, to assess the progress of an ongoing project focused on strengthening local governments. The project, implemented by the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) in collaboration with the German development agency, GIZ, aims to enhance municipal service delivery across Punjab.
Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM-ID PMDFC, and Mr. Sohaib Rafique, DM ID attended the meeting. Mr. Tamana provided an in-depth briefing on the various initiatives under the project, with a particular focus on training programs aimed at improving municipal service standards.
Ms. Asia Gull appreciated the efforts of PMDFC and GIZ, particularly in the development of SOPs, which she noted are playing a critical role in improving service delivery. She emphasized the importance of disseminating these SOPs and training manuals to all local governments across the province to ensure widespread implementation and continuous improvement of municipal services.
