The Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) today hosted an outreach meeting at its head office in Lahore to advance its Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) projects for Gujranwala and Faisalabad. The meeting brought together local and international contractors and consultants to discuss the construction and establishment of two Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) under the ISWM initiative, which aims to enhance waste segregation, recycling, and material recovery to reduce landfill use.
During the session, Solid Waste Expert, Mr. Ahsan Bella, presented detailed insights into the project, while Mr. Wasif, SWM Consultant, shared important highlights and addressed participants' questions. Mr. Adnan Khan introduced the recommended contract mode, Design, Build, and Operate (DBO), and explained its advantages in achieving project objectives. Additionally, Mr. Arsalan Idrees, PO Procurement, outlined the procurement process for the project, offering clarity on requirements and timelines. Mr. Moazzam Jamil, SPO ID and Mr. Salman, PO ID also attended the meeting.
