The World Bank's implementation support mission had a busy day, touring initiatives at MC Muridke and meeting with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tariq Qureshi. They also received a briefing from CEO Mr. Shahid Abbas on the operations of Gujranwala Waste Management Company. Earlier, they reviewed solid waste management operations at MC Muridke, specifically the Forensic Waste Logging Laboratory developed under the Punjab Cities Program. The delegation comprised Mr. Thierry Michael, Senior Urban Specialist; Mr. Suhaib Rasheed, Senior Urban Specialist; Mr. Imran Ul Haq, Senior Social Specialist; Mr. Azhar Ud Din, Social Specialist; Ms. Nida Asif, Environment Specialist; and Mr. Hafeez Buzdar from The WorldBank. From PMDFC, Syed Zahid Aziz, MD-PMDFC; Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM ID; Ms. Rizwana Anjum, SPO ESM, and Mr. Ahsan Bella, SWM Expert accompanied them.
