In pursuance of PCP WB Technical Mission (12-18 Oct 2023), the Environment and Social teams of WB visited Jhang city today. The objective of this E&S Mission is to review the compliance of environment and social mitigation and management plans at site.
During this visit, Syed Zahid Aziz, MD PMDFC was accompanied by E&S team of PMDFC and WB. The World Bank Technical Mission on E&SM included Mr. Imran Ul Haq (Senior Social Development Specialist), Mr. Azhar Ud Din, ESM Consultant, Ms. Nida Asif, Environment Specialist and Mr. Abdul Hafeez Buzdar, Social Development Specialist. While from PMDFC, Ms. Rizwana Anjum, SPO ESM and Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM ID were also part of the visiting team.
A meeting was also convened with DC Jhang to discuss the ESM compliance and overall progress of PCP initiatives in Jhang, including sewerage, tuff pavers, roads, and beautification of walls and chowks. Currently, projects with a total value of more than PKR 3.7 billion are in the execution phase in Jhang under PCP.
