In a significant development, wetlands are deployed today (23-07-2023) at the site of Wastewater Pond Mughalpura Laittan village, Sheikhupura. This groundbreaking initiative, titled "Floating Wetlands for Waste Water Pond Revitalization," is a project funded by UNICEF with a budget of Rs. 10 million. The primary objective of this project is to rejuvenate and provide an environment-friendly treatment option for wastewater ponds. In addition to the floating wetlands, PMDFC is also undertaking significant civil works to support the long-term sustainability of the pond. The technical support for this initiative is being led by Dr. Afzal, Chief Scientist, NIBGE Faisalabad, he was also present today at the occasion while from PMDFC Mr. Arsalan Idrees, PO Procurement, and Mr. Salman Mirza, PO ID was present.
