As part of the ongoing Implementation Completion Report (ICR) Mission for the Punjab Cities Program (PCP), the World Bank team visited MC Gojra today.
The mission comprised Shahnaz Arshad, Senior Urban Specialist / TTL, Rumana Haque, Senior Urban Specialist, from The World Bank and Syed Zahid Aziz, MD PMDFC, along with Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM (ID) and other PMDFC officers who accompanied the delegation.
The team was received by Muhammad Riaz, Administrator MC Gojra, and Yasir Ali, Chief Officer, who briefed the mission on the program’s achievements, implementation progress, and the improvements made in municipal service delivery under PCP.
A practical demonstration was arranged to showcase the functioning of key IT-based systems developed under the program, including the Local Government Financial Management Information System (LGFMIS), Performance Management System (PMS), Grievance Redressal Management (GRM) system, e-procurement, and GIS-based municipal service maps now being utilized for planning, monitoring, and decision-making within the MC.
The mission team also undertook a field visit to review the comprehensive sewerage infrastructure developed under PCP in Gojra, including the Wastewater Treatment Plant, disposal station, and other completed subprojects such as roads, to assess their operational status, functionality, and long-term service delivery impact.
