A Public Hearing was conducted in Gujranwala city on September 9, 2025, for the proposed sanitary landfill development. The proposed sanitary landfill will provide a safe disposal site for municipal solid waste in Gujranwala city. Public Hearing is a mandatory requirement of the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Punjab for the evaluation of environmental and social impacts of the proposed project. Dy. Director EPA, Gujranwala Mr. Salman Aslam chaired the event. Mr. Ahsan Bela (Solid Waste Management Expert PMDFC) delivered a briefing on the proposed Sanitary Landfill Site at the start of the event, followed by detailed deliberation on the environmental and social aspects of the project by Ms. Syeda Huma Batool (Deputy Manager, ESM PMDFC). Active contribution of the participants in the Q&A session was observed, which was very well responded by the team of PMDFC including Solid Waste Consultant PMDFC Mr. Wasif Azhar and a representative of Gujranwala Waste Management Company Mr. Naqqash Kabeer (Sr. Manager Landfill).
