A meeting of the Implementation Support Mission under the Punjab Cities Program (PCP) was held today at the PMDFC office. The World Bank team, including Ms. Shahnaz Arshad (Task Team Leader), Ms. Rumana Huque, and Mr. Suhaib Rasheed (Senior Urban Specialists), participated virtually.
From PMDFC, Syed Zahid Aziz, MD, led the session along with senior team members, including Mr. Adnan Nisar Khan, General Manager (Engineering), and Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, General Manager (Institutional Development).
Mr. Adnan Nisar Khan presented a comprehensive update on the progress of various infrastructure sub-projects being implemented under PCP. He highlighted key achievements, ongoing works, and anticipated timelines for completion. Following his presentation, Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana briefed the mission on key Institutional Strengthening (IS) initiatives, including the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM), Local Government Financial Management Information System (LGFMIS), Performance Management System (PMS) and communication & outreach activities. The discussion also focused on the sustainability of these initiatives beyond the closure of the program, highlighting strategies for institutionalizing and scaling them up across local governments in Punjab.
