Mr. Carlo Alberto Amadei and Mr. Suhaib Raheed from the World Bank, along with Mr. Shehryar from the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group), visited the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) office today to hold consultations on the upcoming proposed Punjab Inclusive Cities Program (PICP) and other important agenda items including the ongoing Punjab Cities Program.
The discussions focused on the draft Terms of Reference (TORs) for the hiring of an engineering firm to undertake detailed design and resident supervision of water supply, sewerage, and storm water drainage sub-projects in five cities of Punjab. The broader scope of the proposed program—covering water supply and sewerage interventions in 16 cities, including Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode implementation in two cities—was also discussed.
The delegation further explored the development of a sanitary landfill site in Jhang and reviewed proposals for enhancing Own Source Revenue (OSR) through improvements in excise and taxation systems in the participating municipalities.
Additionally, the team conducted a detailed review of the Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs), Program Action Plan (PAP), and Results Framework of the proposed program.
