A training session on "The Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013" was organized today, with over 50 Public Information Officers from various Municipal Committees of Punjab in attendance. This training was the first in a series for local government officers, organized under the GIZ-funded project to strengthen local services by local governments. The event was graced by Justice (R) Ali Akbar Qureshi, Zafar Iqbal, Additional Session Judge, Shaukat Ali, Information Commissioner, Ar. Plnr. Parvez Iqbal, Chairman PMDFC, and Mr. Shafi Arshad, Member BOD. Nauman Nazir, Director Awareness, and Qadeer Ahmad, Registrar Punjab Information Commission, delivered informative sessions on the RTI Act. Representatives from GIZ, including Sanam Irshad, Advisor Local Governance, Harem, and Asim Hafeez, also attended the session.
