On January 24, 2024, a comprehensive status update session regarding the implementation of PCP took place at the PMDFC office. The World Bank Team, headed by Ms. Shahnaz Arshad (Task Team Leader) and including Mr. Imran Ul Haq (Senior Social Development Specialist), Mr. Azhar Ud Din (ESM Consultant), Ms. Nida Asif (Environment Specialist), and Mr. Abdul Hafeez Buzdar (Social Development Specialist), participated via video link. The session covered various aspects, with sections from the PMDFC/PCP team focusing on Institutional Strengthening, Environment & Social Management in the first session, and Infrastructure Development, fiduciary matters, and the way forward in the second session.
During the meeting, Mr. Mahmood Masood Tamana, GM ID, shared presentation on Institutional Strengthening, Ms. Rizwana Anjum, SPO ESM, provided insights into ESM activities/updates, and Mr. Muazzam Jamil Malik, DPD/GM Engineering, shared details on Infrastructure Development, Mr. Ahsan Bela, Solid Waste Management Expert in SPPU presented updates on “Solid Waste Management and Characterization Study”. Mr. Zohaib Butt, SPO Procurement with his team also attended the meeting. The World Bank expressed appreciation for the progress achieved by the PCP team under the leadership of Syed Zahid Aziz, PD/MD PMDFC.
