PMDFC implemented the Asset Management of Municipal Immovable properties of TMAs which was a project of LG&CD Department. This project started in March 2015 and ended in March 2016. The allocation for the project was 50 million rupees. The assets documented under the project were TMAs’ owned open lands, office buildings, shops, graveyards, water supply tube wells, sewerage disposal stations, parks, slaughter houses, bus stands etc. The main objectives of the project were:
- To introduce transparency, efficiency and accountability through e-governance and ICT/GIS based solutions
- Better control and decision making in the management of municipal assets
- To reduce encroachments, litigation and malpractices, and increase revenue
To achieve these objectives, PMDFC team conducted field visits of all TMAs of Punjab along with CO units. Main activities included GIS based Mapping of municipal immovable properties of TMAs, detailed documentation and field verification of each asset. After the data collection; teams worked on development of a uniform coding system for municipal assets based on PIFRA chart of accounts, GIS database and web application development for municipal assets inventory and management, and customized reporting of assets’ financial and property attributes. The teams completed all field visits to collect data and developed 190 base maps along with a Web Application. This web application will facilitate the administrators to manage the TMAs properties in a better way with Database and Property Valuation Calculator
