The World Bank's Preparation Mission for the proposed Punjab Inclusive Cities Program visited the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) today. The mission, comprising Ms. Shahnaz Arshad, Task Team Leader, and Mr. Suhaib Rasheed, Senior Urban Specialist, held a meeting with the PMDFC team led by Syed Zahid Aziz, MD, PMDFC. The discussions focused on the modalities and scope of the upcoming program.
The proposed Punjab Inclusive Cities Program aims to address sewerage problems in selected cities, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program is expected to improve health conditions, particularly by reducing child stunting, preventing waterborne diseases, and mitigating other environmental impacts caused by wastewater.
